Jack Sallabank 
Founding Director 

Jack is a researcher, writer and marketer with a strong background in innovation based sectors. Prior to founding Future Places Studio Jack spent 4 years at the UK’s Innovation Foundation Nesta. 

Jack worked in a consultancy capacity from 2018 - 2021 for the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham on developing and delivering their Industrial Strategy. He has worked for the education charity Ark on the development of EdCity, an ed-tech campus in West London and for the Institute of Cancer Research on the development of their oncology campus in Sutton. Jack was the Chair of the White City Developers Forum from 2016 - 2020.

Jack was named as one of the Estates Gazettes Rising Stars in 2017 and was nominated by the BCO as Entrepreneur of the Year in 2020. He is a regular speaker at built environment conferences and roundtable discussions and also occasionally writes for Monocle magazine on cities.

Cecilia Lindström
Director of Research

Cecilia is an urban strategist specialising in large scale frameworks, strategic visioning, storytelling, co-creation processes and research. Her work focuses on people and nature centred neighbourhoods, resilient and inclusive placemaking initiatives. She has over 15 years’ experience of leading complex multi-faceted regeneration projects across the UK, working with renowned designers and specialists in the field.

Cecilia honed her skills as a long-standing team member at the architects Studio Egret West, where she managed the studio’s thought leadership endeavours and prepared numerous strategic projects that sought to revitalise areas in need of change.

Cecilia is currently undertaking a part-time MSc in Conservation Science and Practice at Imperial College London.

Katie Mulkowsky
Director of Research & Urban Health

Katie is an urban planner, writer and researcher interested in the link between health and place. With over a decade of experience across the public, private and charity sectors, she is passionate about engaging local communities to shape more equitable and people-centred cities. 

In London she has collaborated with councils, business improvement districts and developer clients to activate underutilised street space while improving air quality. During her tenure at Momentum Transport Consultancy she worked in-house at the London Borough of Camden and Central District Alliance on secondment. She previously worked in New York alongside local government and an environmental justice charity. 

Her research has explored topics in planning regulation, social housing and clean energy. She holds an MSc in Regional and Urban Planning from the London School of Economics and has conducted fieldwork on sustainable development in Paris, Cape Town and Kampala. She is currently working on a book project about a major highway in New York. 


Freelance team

Arthur Stovell 
Designer 

Arthur is a graphic designer with over ten years experience working in larger agencies, smaller studios and now on a freelance basis. After graduating from University of the West of England (Bristol UWE) Arthur worked across for many multi-award winning studios. This earned a diverse range of skills across digital and print, working on brand identities, web design, editorial/layout design, typography design and publishing.

After leaving his last full-time job at Pentagram in 2018 Arthur went self-employed to establish his own design practice under the name Mondial Studio with a focus on working with socially and environmentally conscious clients.
